Services - Comprehensive Exam
This is a full examination of all intraoral hard and soft tissues, along with surrounding area extraoral.
Joint mobility and function examined. The TMJ or temporomandibular joint near the ear will be examined, with tactile, range of motion, and radiographically.
Usually this exam would be a visual and tactile exam, along with needed dental x rays. This screens for oral cancer, any dental abnormality or periodontal issues. The x rays, bite wings will be used to look for caries or enamel breakdown. We will also check margins of all fillings and dental work. Dental work isn’t permanent and it can fail/break over time, so all work will need to be evaluated at each exam.
A comprehensive exam will be done on your first dental visit to our office, unless you are seen for an emergency or limited exam. This exam will only need to be completed one time, while you’re an active patient at our office.
