Services - Digital Radiographs
Digital x rays/digital radiography gives the dentist greater detail and we can find issues, such as cavities sooner. We have tools we can use to magnify and change the density of our x rays, so we can catch cavities before they spread to other teeth or grow and extend to the nerve of the tooth. We can also take measurements during dental treatments with these x rays and a measurement tool.
Digital x rays also have a lower dose of radiation than traditional x rays. Digital dental x rays are less radiation than one day of natural background radiation. Meaning less radiation than you would get with an outdoor walk on a sunny day. Also, dental x rays have less radiation than a short airplane ride (about 1-2hours).
The dentist will use their expertise to decide if dental radiographs are necessary for your exam and/or treatment.
